Buttermilk Bran Loaf

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 40 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 cups wheat bran
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Recipe

  • 1 mix together all the dry ingredients.
  • 2 stir in the buttermilk and let stand in a warm place for 1/2 hour before scraping into an oiled loaf pan.
  • 3 preheat the oven to 350°f.
  • 4 bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
