Cardamom And Fennel Flavored Rice

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom seed
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 put all ingredients into a sauce pan.
  • 2 bring water to the boil.
  • 3 cover with a tight-fitting lid, and reduce heat to the lowest possible setting at which it will still simmer.
  • 4 do not disturb for 15 minutes and do not remove the lid!
  • 5 after this time, remove the pan from the heat, and allow to stand for 5 minutes.
  • 6 do not remove the lid!
  • 7 when the standing time has elapsed you may now remove the lid.
  • 8 fluff with a fork, and add salt and pepper to taste.
