Cardamom And Fennel Flavored Rice

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom seed
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 put all ingredients into a sauce pan.
- 2 bring water to the boil.
- 3 cover with a tight-fitting lid, and reduce heat to the lowest possible setting at which it will still simmer.
- 4 do not disturb for 15 minutes and do not remove the lid!
- 5 after this time, remove the pan from the heat, and allow to stand for 5 minutes.
- 6 do not remove the lid!
- 7 when the standing time has elapsed you may now remove the lid.
- 8 fluff with a fork, and add salt and pepper to taste.
