Bow Ties With Walnuts, Butter & Sage

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 3/4 lb bow tie pasta
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 12 fresh sage leaves, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup romano cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 place walnuts in large, dry nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • 2 cook 4-5 minutes, until toasted, shaking pan constantly.
  • 3 remove walnuts, set aside.
  • 4 cook pasta in boiling salted water according to package directions, about 10 minutes.
  • 5 when pasta is almost done, melt butter in large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • 6 add sage, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  • 7 cook a minute or two to blend flavors.
  • 8 remove from heat.
  • 9 drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup pasta cooking water, then add pasta to butter in skillet.
  • 10 gradually add pasta water.
  • 11 stir in cheese and toss to combine.
  • 12 garnish with toasted nuts and serve.
