Bow Ties With Walnuts, Butter & Sage

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 3/4 lb bow tie pasta
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 12 fresh sage leaves, coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup romano cheese, shredded
Recipe
- 1 place walnuts in large, dry nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- 2 cook 4-5 minutes, until toasted, shaking pan constantly.
- 3 remove walnuts, set aside.
- 4 cook pasta in boiling salted water according to package directions, about 10 minutes.
- 5 when pasta is almost done, melt butter in large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- 6 add sage, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
- 7 cook a minute or two to blend flavors.
- 8 remove from heat.
- 9 drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup pasta cooking water, then add pasta to butter in skillet.
- 10 gradually add pasta water.
- 11 stir in cheese and toss to combine.
- 12 garnish with toasted nuts and serve.
