Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
- Servings: 9
- 1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water (105-115 degrees)
- 1/2 cup lukewarm milk (scalded then cooled)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/3 cup margarine or 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2-4 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 tablespoons cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 dissolve yeast in water.
- 2 stir in milk, sugar, shortening, salt, egg, and 2 cups flour.
- 3 beat until smooth.
- 4 add more flour until dough is easy to handle.
- 5 knead 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- 6 place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double. (1 ½ hours).
- 7 mix 1 cup sugar with 4 tablespoons cinnamon.
- 8 roll out dough, sprinkle on some of cinnamon and sugar mixture, cut into 1 inch by 6 inch strips.
- 9 tie strips into knots (bows), dip into butter, then cinnamon/sugar.
- 10 place in 9 by 13 pan, drizzle butter over, let rise 30 to 40 minutes.
- 11 bake 375 for 15 to 20 minutes. watch closely.
