Chawal Ki Tikki

Total Time: 2 hrs 25 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 3
  • 150 g rice, washed and drained
  • 50 g urad dal, split (washed and drained)
  • 10 g yeast
  • 10 g coriander powder
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies
  • 25 g cashews
  • salt
  • oil, to fry

Recipe

  • 1 grind rice and dal together in a mixie.
  • 2 keep aside for 30 minutes.
  • 3 place yeast in warm water.
  • 4 mix all the ingredients together.
  • 5 keep aside for 60 minutes.
  • 6 heat oil in a wok.
  • 7 drop dollops of the mix into the hot oil.
  • 8 cook on low flame until the tikki is browned on either side.
  • 9 (it resembles a falafel!) serve hot with coconut chutney as an evening snack.
