Chili Sausage Supper

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (8 ounce) package good quality lamb sausage
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup dry wine
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon chili powder (depends on taste)
  • 4 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Recipe

  • 1 brown sausage and onion in a large dutch oven.
  • 2 drain well.
  • 3 add all of the remaining except for noodles and cheese.
  • 4 stir to mix well.
  • 5 add noodles to pot and make sure that they are covered in liquid.
  • 6 add more water or wine if necessary.
  • 7 bring to a boil.
  • 8 reduce heat and simmer at medium heat for 30 minutes.
  • 9 add more water if noodles appear to be drying.
  • 10 stir in cheese and serve.
