Chewy Cheesy Soft Pretzels

Total Time: 32 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 18
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • coarse salt

Recipe

  • 1 mix first 5 ingredients.
  • 2 cut in butter until crumbly.
  • 3 stir in milk, just until moistened.
  • 4 knead on a floured surface for a minute.
  • 5 divide in half.
  • 6 roll each portion into a 12x8 rectangle.
  • 7 cut each into 8in long strips.
  • 8 fold strips in half; pinching the edges;and twist into pretzel shapes.
  • 9 place on greased baking sheets.
  • 10 brush with egg and sprinkle with course salt.
  • 11 bake at 400* for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
